We are saved to serve
God has a plan for our lives : Service.
God rescued his chosen people Israel from slavery in Egypt that they might serve him Exodus 10 v 7 And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, “How long shall this man be a snare unto us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God.
Jesus said, John 12 v 26 If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be. If any man serve Me, him will My Father honour.
We are not saved to serve sin!
Romans 6 v 6 knowing this: that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
A reward for serving Christ.
Colossians 3 V 24 knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance, for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Hebrews 12 v 28 Therefore, we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear.
In Glory . In Heaven
Revelation 22 v 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
James 2 v 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
God has a plan for our lives Ha’gar cast away her baby dying for lack of water… God had a plan for her baby: Read Genesis 21 v 17
Gods plans include “Good Works “
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath beforehand ordained, that we should walk in them.
2 Timothy 3:17 that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly equipped for all good works.
Titus 2:7 in all things showing thyself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing un corruptness, seriousness, sincerity,
Titus 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I enjoin that thou affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Moses
Heb 3:9 “when your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years”.
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, “Thou hast faith, and I have works.” Show me thy faith apart from thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.
James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
James 2:22 Do you see how faith wrought with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?
James 2:24 Ye see then how by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Revelation 3 v 8 I know thy works and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name
Our works will be tried in the fire to see what sort they are?
1 Corinthians 3 v 13-15
every man’s work shall be made manifest; for the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall test every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as fire.
The works of the flesh are sins
Galatians 5 v 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Greater Works than Jesus
Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the very works‘ sake. John 14:11
Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth in Me, the works that I do he shall do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father. John 14:12
You will know it is God speaking, Because it is based on “ His Word” God will never ask you to do anything that is not in “His Word”.
