And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. 1Kings 19:12
And thine ears hall hear a word behind thee saying,This is the way walk ye in it. Isaiah 30 v 21
It came to me as I was negotiating the roundabout at Willingdon in Eastbourne, “Betty Lou Mills”. It was a strong prompting of the Holy Spirit. “Lord, I queried ? I’m on my way to Kay Kings”. I had set out that morning to do some visiting. It was around 10 a.m.. Three people were on my mind, Kay King, and Peter and Helen Darch. Kay lived, at that time, in and ancient block of flats in Southfields Road, Eastbourne.
I knocked at her door. There was no reply. Did that prompting come again?. “Betty Lou Mills”. I knocked again. No answer, she was out. I drove up Hartfield Road thinking of Peter and Helen. Suddenly the car turned left. My mind reeled. Betty Lou Mills came strongly into my mind. An insistent whisper but almost a command. I turned the car towards Kings Drive and said “Lord, I’m on my way to Peter and Helen’s” . At the next junction the car turned left. I capitulated. “OK, Lord, you win”. I drove directly to Betty’s home in Willingdon and parked outside. I bowed my head in prayer. “Lord, why am I here ? Lord please guide me, Help me”. I walked up the short drive and knocked at the door.
Betty Lou, opened the door and greeted me with these words. “It is the Lord”. What she meant of course was, “It’s the Lords doing, sending you here in answer to prayer”. ” Anyway”, she explained, “we have a crisis. Russell was due to take Brother Daniels to Heathrow Airport. An emergency at the office had delayed him and Brother Joe had to be at the airport with in the hour. Brother Tony, can you take him?” I said “I will be happy to take him”. At that moment Brother Joe Daniels came down the stairs. “Brother Tony, I have your address with me, I was hoping to meet you.” Brother Joe thanked me and went to get his cases.
Betty took me into the kitchen and pressed £3.50 into my hand, for petrol. She did not know that I do not carry money and had none on me.
Later having prayed and loaded the car, I stopped at the garage for petrol. My heart rejoiced when I was able to fill up to the top of the gauge for exactly £3.50. Amazing and wonderful.
It was a blessed journey, the time sped by in fellowship together, talking of the Lord. Brother Joe Daniels is a very humble man who God has used greatly in revival meetings in India and all over the world. As we approached the terminal slip road, I was concerned for I had no money for the car park. Brother Joe spoke, “Bro Tony, please do not go into the car park, just drop me at on the pavement at the terminal building. We can pray together and you can go straight home”.
How I thanked God. he knew my need. I dropped Brother Joe at the terminal and after prayer the Lord guided me safely home. Sheila quizzed me, “Where have you been?”
