Two Tribes

In one city Brother Tony was told that two tribes had been at war. These two tribes were separated from each other in the Jail and Brother Tony was asked to speak to one group on the Saturday and another group on the Monday following.

Both groups responded to the message and accepted the Lord amid scenes that would bring joy in heaven.   Leaving the prison and trusting the local pastors and evangelist to do the follow up work that is to return to distribute bibles and new testaments and to teach the new converts

Fruit

On my return one year later Brother Tony was thrilled amazed and greatly blessed to see these two tribes who had formally been deep enemies now sitting together and worshipping the Lord together. Leaping and dancing and praising God with all thoughts of anger forgotten, the enmity forgiven and  now one body of believers rejoicing in being set free from sins and shame.

In another Island and in another city jail Brother Tony was amazed to see the Word of God painted in large letters on the inside walls of the prison.  Brother Tony  was more amazed to see so many prisoners who were carrying Bibles and reading them. These men newly converted were digging deeply into the Word of God sharing the bible and their testimonies to other needy prisoners.

Children

One shocking thing Brother Tony discovered on his visits to many prisons was the number of young children in prison. These were being cared for by one parent or the other who was serving their sentence.

Women in Prison

Brother Tony always visited the women’s section sometime a few dozen women sometimes only one.

Brother Tony  was told the young children aged between 4 and 12 were put out of the prison at night to sleep rough outside the gates until morning.  Apparently there was no one else who could care for them.

In all the prisons Brother   Tony ministered in the local pastors would re visit at the invitation of the prison governor to distribute bibles and conduct bible teaching on a regular basis . Groups of new converts would pray together studying God’s word and evangelise fellow prisoners. Many men left the prisons to become pastors and evangelist serving the Lord. One pastor who accompanied Brother Tony visited a different prison every day as well as ministering in his own local church on the Lords day.
